Large Very Rare 1970s Danish Glass Table Lamp

Huge impressive, striking and unusual lamp with strong colours and design.

This is the larger of the two sizes this lamp was made in.

The design is called ‘Flame’ and features a bright orangey red design on traditional Nordic white glass which is called ‘Opal’.

The Holmegaard catalogue describes it as “white with reddish detail”

Designed by Ole Winther (best known for Holmegaard’s ‘Viking bottle’) in 1977 for Holmegaard.

Handmade by Holmegaard on the Danish island of Funen. Appears to have only been made in 1977, which would account for its rarity.

Approximately 40cm high including, the original lamp holder, and 15cm wide at its base.

Excellent near mint fully working vintage condition with original sticker on its base. The only signs of age seems to be to the metal part.

It will be rewired with white plastic cable and a new switch on the cable.

We can fit a British/Irish, European, Aus/NZ or American* plug.

It takes a E27 bulb, maximum 60w (not included).

*If used in the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using an energy saving/LED bulb. E26 bulbs should work but because they are 1mm smaller they need to be fully turned to ensure they make contact with the fitting.
